"Statoil Fuel & Retail" changes name to "Circle K"
On 22 September it was announced that Statoil Fuel & Retail and the Statoil service stations will change their names to Circle K.
Statoil Fuel & Retail’s Canadian parent company, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (“Couche-Tard”), has announced that it is consolidating its portfolio of retail brands including Mac’s®, Circle K® and Kangaroo Express®, as well as Statoil®, under one refreshed global banner: Circle K.
Circle K is already Couche-Tard’s largest and most international brand and can be seen today on thousands of stores and service stations in 14 countries around the world. The refreshed Circle K brand will strengthen its perception by customers.
The name change will not impact existing contracts with Statoil Fuel & Retail customers, partners or suppliers. The INGO automats network in Sweden and Denmark is also unaffected by this change.
Statoil Fuel & Retail operates Statoil service stations and fuel sales in eight European countries. The name change will be rolled out country by country, beginning in Europe in Norway and Sweden from May 2016. Worldwide, the process is expected to be completed in three to four years.
