Mandatory AUTOPASS usage for trucks in Norway from 1 January, 2015

01/12/2015

From 1 January 2015 Norway is introducing mandatory usage of electronic on-board unit (OBU) for all vehicles with weight over 3,5 tons.

All vehicles without valid OBU will be stopped and fined by the police. For foreign companies with frequent business in Norway,  AUTOPASS OBUs which can be used for payment at all BOM stations in Norway and which will also work at Svinesund, Øresundsbridge and Storebælt bridges, are available. AUTOPASS OBUs are available either from your fuel card issuer or from local service stations, often a filling station, a hotel or a shop close to a toll station, where you can obtain an OBU  and enter into a contract.

Detailed information is available at the official AUTOPASS web portal: http://www.autopass.no/
